Artist Days at Tao House
The Eugene O’Neill Foundation, in partnership with the National Park Service, announces its 13th annual Artist Days at Tao House.
The program offers Bay Area artists an opportunity to create new works in all media or artistic genre in the inspirational environment of the 11–acre site that was once the home of the legendary American playwright Eugene O’Neill. His former estate, Tao House, is a National Historic Site managed by the National Park Service.
Artists Days: October 6-8, 2011
The fall season of Artists Days at The Eugene O’Neill National Historic Site this year will be on Thursday October 6, Friday October 7, and Saturday October 8. All artists are welcome–– including sculptors, musicians, poets, authors and performers.
The site is adjacent to the Las Trampas open space on the west and affords one of the most beautiful views of Mount Diablo and the San Ramon Valley giving pleinair artists multiple vistas and subjects from which to choose.
For those who prefer still life painting, this year there will be an opportunity to create art works from an arrangement of O’Neill artifacts and memorabilia. Artists may stay for the day to paint, or may attend a partial day, taking pictures to be used for reference in producing works in their own studios.
There are facilities to support almost every media –– bathrooms, hot and cold running water, sinks, 110–volt electrical outlets, tables and chairs, and covered space. The program is sponsored by the Eugene O’Neill Foundation in partnership with the National Park Service.
There is a nominal charge of five dollars. Shuttle Service provided by NPS.
